See the Pen Drop G by Chris Lowe (@alltimelowe) on CodePen.

G is for glow. Keyframe animations on the text-shadow and colour achieve a flickering effect. The shadows change in opacity and in blur-radius and the colour of the text flickers to a light grey for five percent of the timeline. Overall the loop, though still a pattern, is a bit more interesting than simply timing it at an even fade in – fade out.

Set in Dosis, a modern rounded typeface that  is fairly sophisticated in its variety—coming in seven weights as well as alternates such as single and double-story g, lowercase a with tail, etc. I wouldn’t use Dosis for setting paragraph text; I find it has too much personality and takes away from the text; however, it can make a nice headline, especially if you have control over kerning.
