It has been a long time since an update and a lot has happened. I got a job the day after classes ended. I’ve been working for a “Unified Media Agency” called Norex in Halifax, NS. We do mostly web design and development. There is a great team of developers and currently just two designers.

It has been going very well, I have polished some skills nicely and expanded my horizons some. I have had the opportunity to design some nice print stuff as well as something I never thought I would do, a Flash popup (called a Voken in the industry). The Voken actually had over 200 times the average click-through rate, which is awesome. It probably helped that it was for beer.

Today was the first day of a new/big opportunity for me. I started working part-time as a Project Manager for our sister company SheepDog. It’s pretty exciting, since I get to gain some managerial experience, which is in line with my long term career goals of becoming a Creative Director, and probably one day own my own practice.

Anyway, exciting stuff. Norex is launching a new and definitely improved website soon, and we have blogs for development and design.
